A new opportunity has arisen for a Development Manager to join our Commercial Property team in Sydney.
You will have the opportunity to work on one of Stockland's major workplace projects. Initially this role will be for Stockland M_Park Stage 1 development in Macquarie Park NSW. M_Park Stage 1 is a four-building precinct currently under construction with industry leading design, technology, sustainability and placemaking initiatives.
**The Opportunity - About the Role**
This critical role in the Commercial Property team is responsible for delivering a live workplace (office) project. Your responsibilities will include:
- Development Management - Actively manage projects from conception to completion ensuring they are scoped, designed and delivered within agreed parameters including managing the following aspects of project delivery:
- Project consultant coordination to prepare and obtain internal and external approvals
- Financial performance and risk assessment including reporting, budgeting, monthly reviews and cash flow management
- Awarding, managing and administering contracts for consultants and contractors
- Managing marketing, inquiry and commercial negotiations
- Reviewing market conditions and competitor activity
- Leading and administrating an AFL
- Tenant relationships
- Preparing a Development Brief and ensuring the project delivers on the Development Brief
- Design Management
- Support the active management of existing tenants and the commercial assessment of new and ongoing lease agreements.
- Financial Modelling - Prepare and maintain financial models for current and prospective projects.
- Mentor and provide training to junior team members as required.
**About You**
Degree qualified in a related discipline, you will have prior experience in a development, project management or investment management capacity in the commercial property market with a focus on key drivers and the ability to tailor the product mix to suit varying market trends. With demonstrated business acumen you can assess the financial benefits and risks of the projects you are working on. Importantly you know the importance of collaborating with others, you strive for excellence in all you do and you are focused on delivery.
Additionally you will have strong strategic and operational ability, commercial acumen and be skilled/ experienced in:
- Working on Workplace (office) projects and detailed knowledge of design of workplace amenities
- Extensive knowledge of AFL's (Agreements for Lease) is a pre-requisite
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams across multiple projects
- Strong negotiation skills
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills
- Excellent time management skills within a project environment
- Strong team focus with an ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels
