Reporting to General Manager Engineering and Maintenance, the positionincludes the following responsibilities:
Lead the development, maintenance and governance of engineering standards, specifications, procedures and instructions for locomotives and wagon fleets.
Ensure engineering compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards and internal policies.
Develop whole-of-life asset management plans for fleet assets, supporting long-term reliability and performance.
Lead reliability improvement programs and oversee the development of predictive maintenance strategies.
Analyse failure data, identify trends and implement corrective actions to reduce defects and improve fleet uptime.
Oversee engineering quality assurance processes, including audits, inspections and supplier quality management.
Identify risks and improvement opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies and supporting operational excellence.
Provide technical advice, troubleshooting and fault management support to operational and maintenance teams.
Lead engineering investigations into incidents, failures and defects, ensuring root cause and preventative actions are captured.

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards chartership with near-completion.
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in rollingstock engineering, maintenance or heavy rail asset management.
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) – already attained.
Project management credentials such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
Change management certification such as PROSCI or equivalent.
Experience developing asset management plans, engineering standards and predictive maintenance strategies.
You are someone who demonstrates;
High-level communication, stakeholder management and leadership capability
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
