Location Profile

Wodonga South Primary School is integrated with Southern Rise Childrens Centre and the site is known as Southern Rise Education Centre. The enrolment for 2026 is currently 360 students. The school has 18 class groupings operating which includes 2 x Foundation classes, 5 x 1/2s, 5 x Year 3/4s, and 6 x Year 5/6s. Classroom programs were supported by specialist teachers in the subject areas of Music, Visual Arts, Social/Emotional Learning and Physical Education.

The school has a strong relationship with the Southern Rise Childrens Centre which includes a Maternal and Child Health Program, Long Day Care, Play groups and 3 and 4 year old Preschool Programs. Communication and transition between the Preschool and the school is strong and well supported.

There is a strong focus on inclusion and differentiation for all students and the school has an established School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SW-PBS) program. These focus areas work well together and give strong guidance to the whole school community about expectations and beliefs.

Selection Criteria

* SC5 Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff in respect to the work area.

Role

Attendance during school vacation of up to six days may be required. An education support class position performs tasks under guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. The position may involve coordination of other education support staff within the work area or educational program, without including duties of a teacher.

Certification and/or qualifications of up to three years can be required at this level. The role may include:

* Specific support tasks to achieve outcomes, typically involving accountability for a single function or coordination of a work area under direction.
* Assisting teachers within an educational program by undertaking specific support tasks or coordination of the support function.
* Supervised health and wellbeing support tasks, medical intervention support tasks, or other specialised student/teacher support roles requiring specific qualifications and/or training.
* Technical tasks requiring a sound knowledge of basic technical and/or scientific principles used to develop and adapt work methods and make judgments where clear guidelines exist.

Responsibilities

* Provide routine clerical or other administrative support: general telephone, front office enquiries, mail deliveries, assisting with stock control, supporting organisation of meetings, receiving and initial processing of standard paperwork.
* Maintain, enter and retrieve data from the school's IT systems, including the school's records system for student, staff and school records.
* Maintain and update office records, enrolment data, diary records, and basic written records.
* Support or coordinate preparation of standard routine internal and external communication according to school procedures.
* Source basic data or factual information from given sources to support school administrative functions.
* Coordinate delivery of administrative services within the school.
* In consultation with the principal, determine and manage work priorities within the school office.
* Develop and implement strategies to ensure effective administration procedures.
* Coordinate implementation of requisitioning, purchasing and issuing procedures.
* Manage client reception and office operations.
* Support first aid facilities and assist in delivering first aid to students.
