About the Role
As a Workshop Mechanical Fitter, you will play a critical role in the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of water and sewerage plant equipment that supports our communities every day. Based at our Maroochydore service centres, you will ensure the reliability and performance of essential infrastructure.
You will act as a key point of contact for mechanical servicing matters, offering practical solutions, technical advice, and innovative approaches to problem-solving. This is a hands-on role that also focuses on process improvement, strengthening relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and mentoring team members within the workshop.
Whether you are executing complex maintenance tasks or guiding others through trade development, your work will support a safety-first culture and help shape the long-term sustainability of our assets and services.
About You
To contribute to this role, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities:
* Experience in mechanical maintenance, repair, and servicing - ideally with water, sewerage, or industrial plant equipment.
* Demonstrated experience in the safe and competent operation of manual lathes, milling machines, and drilling machines.
* Sound knowledge of mechanical processes and control systems.
* A strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
* Confidence in diagnosing faults, troubleshooting, and delivering effective solutions.
* A proactive approach to mentoring and sharing your expertise with apprentices or less experienced team members.
* The ability to build effective working relationships and drive continuous improvement.
* Familiarity with computerised maintenance systems and basic MS Office tools.
