Logistics Manager Role
Our Hudson Trade Centre store is seeking a highly organised and proactive Logistics Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure smooth, on-time deliveries for customers and builders.
This fast-paced role requires strong coordination and problem-solving skills to manage delivery schedules, coordinate with drivers, resolve delivery issues, and handle ad-hoc purchasing tasks for the timber yard. You will play a key role in providing an exceptional customer experience.
This full-time position offers great hours from 6:14 am – 2:50 pm including a one-hour lunch break. It's perfect for someone who enjoys early starts and thrives in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Use our Delivery Management System (DMS) to schedule and confirm dispatch orders
* Coordinate delivery runs and communicate plans with drivers
* Keep customers informed about any expected delays
* Troubleshoot and resolve delivery issues as they arise
* Allocate stock within the warehouse, ensuring compliance with safety standards
* Place purchase orders and manage ad-hoc purchasing tasks for the timber yard
* Support the Store Manager with general logistics and operational needs
Requirements
* Background in trade or warehousing is a plus but not essential
* A current forklift license is preferred
* Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to stay calm under pressure
* Great attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
* Familiarity with DMS platforms
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
