Business Development Officer - Permanent Part-Time 
Days of Work: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 
The Role 
This role will support business activities located in the South of Perth region. 
In this role, you’ll be responsible for identifying and converting a consistent flow of new members, in addition to assisting with the retention of the existing member base and operationalising identified stakeholder contacts. 
Through prospecting, industry networking and identification of new opportunities within subsectors of our target market, the focus of this role is to increase and retain the number of members and market stakeholders to directly influence growth within the fund. 
The Business Development Officer is responsible for the continued development and strengthening of key contacts within our industry stakeholders and partners.

Who are we? 
Teachers Health was created by teachers for teachers over 70 years ago and is the only health fund exclusively for the education community. As a not-for-profit health fund, we exist for our members covering the lives of over 400,000 teachers, education staff & their families. 
What will you do? 
- Implement and deliver on approved sales initiatives within agreed timeframes, budget constraints and quality standards. 
- Regularly monitor engagement activity to ensure continuous results, maximising sales and service satisfaction. 
- Drive business growth and meet KPI targets through building effective relationships, developing current relationships and realising the fund’s contractual perks across numerous external partnerships. 
- Manage your pipeline and prospects through regular, proactive, value adding engagement including face to face meetings, maintaining interactions and records through the CRM (Salesforce). 
- Regularly attend schools/ hospitals and present at union, educational or healthcare conferences, events, training seminars and functions. 
- Conduct territory planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation/reporting. 
- Collaboratively share knowledge of competitive landscapes, clients and market trends. 
- Maintain existing members through positive customer service. 
- Represent THF at industry events, conferences, and other opportunities, across all states and territories, with the understanding that these opportunities may involve working nights and weekends. 
- Build, develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders and leverage these relationships to achieve growth outcomes for THF 
- Collaborate with the THF Marketing Team to ensure the timely production and delivery of external assets. 
- Promote health centres and the three THF brands to key external stakeholders, industry groups, and potential customers. 
What do you need? 
- Background of implementing effective business development strategies with a focus on revenue growth. 
- Demonstrated experience in Business Development, Account Management, Sales and/or Marketing. 
- Ability to create and leverage your own sales plan that contributes towards the overall departmental objectives in a targeted and consistent manner. 
- Solid understanding of sales and marketing-led sales approaches. 
- Strong territory management across all workplaces i.e. education and health. 
- Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to develop and nurture key decision makers. 
- Strong project management, problem solving and analytical skills, with particular attention to detail. 
- Excellent understanding of political nuances and experience dealing with unions and employer groups.
