About our client

Our client is a respected national retail group with a strong footprint across Australia. Known for their customer-first approach, supportive culture, and commitment to developing their people, they continue to evolve and grow. As the business expands, they are seeking an experienced and pragmatic HR Business Partner to join their team and provide day-to-day HR support to leaders across the store network.

About the role

This is a true business partnering role supporting retail operations with end-to-end HR delivery. Acting as a trusted advisor to store and regional leaders, you'll provide hands-on support across employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and policy compliance. You'll play a key role in fostering consistency, accountability, and engagement across a large and diverse workforce.

This role has no direct reports - it's a pure HR business partnering position, ideal for someone who loves being embedded in the day-to-day and making an impact where it counts.

What you will do

* Partner with operational leaders to provide timely and practical HR advice
* Support end-to-end recruitment and onboarding across the store network
* Manage and advise on ER and IR matters including performance management, investigations, and award interpretation
* Drive engagement through coaching, culture initiatives, and proactive communication
* Maintain compliance with Fair Work and company policy, contributing to audits, reporting, and process improvement
* Support the rollout of people initiatives across L&D, wellbeing, and engagement

What you will bring

* Tertiary qualifications in HR, IR or a related discipline
* Demonstrated experience in a hands-on HR Business Partner or Senior Advisor role
* Strong understanding of the Fair Work Act and general retail award frameworks
* Proven ability to balance compliance with commercial thinking
* Confident communicator who builds trust quickly and manages relationships with empathy and professionalism
* Self-starter with excellent time management and attention to detail
