Your new role
In this senior position, you will act as the functional authority for D365 F&O across key finance modules. Your work will centre on shaping how business processes translate into practical system functionality, ensuring solutions are built in a way that is maintainable, scalable and aligned with best‑practice use of the platform.
You will drive end‑to‑end functional solution design, lead requirements analysis, produce high‑quality functional documentation and guide both configuration and testing activities. A major part of the role involves partnering closely with business stakeholders, internal technology teams and external vendors to maintain solution integrity throughout the lifecycle of enhancements, releases and optimisation initiatives.
You’ll also play a hands‑on role in configuring the platform, coordinating SIT/UAT cycles, contributing to environment planning, and supporting change and release processes. Beyond delivery, you’ll help uplift the ecosystem’s maturity by identifying automation opportunities, refining business processes, supporting complex issue resolution, and helping users get the most out of the system through training and guidance.
What you'll need to succeed
To be effective in this role, you’ll need a strong foundation working across Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, with at least five years’ experience delivering finance‑focused F&O implementations. You bring solid technofunctional capability — able to discuss architecture, integrations, feasibility and customisation considerations confidently with both technical and non‑technical teams.
Your background includes exposure to full project lifecycles, from requirements gathering through to deployment and post‑go‑live support. A deep understanding of F&O security, workflows, data entities, LCS, RSAT and Azure DevOps will be essential. Working within Agile or hybrid delivery environments will also help you hit the ground running.
Additional strengths that will set you apart include relevant Microsoft certifications, experience owning ERP platform improvements, familiarity with integration patterns (API, OData, Data Entities), and knowledge of structured change or release management frameworks.
