About The Role
WorkPac are seeking an experienced Senior CAD Drafter Signalling, Communications & Electrical to join a specialist rail team in Perth. This role focuses on producing and leading CAD designs for signalling, communications, and electrical systems while ensuring compliance with Public Transport Authority (PTA) drafting standards. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to mentor other drafting staff and contribute to the delivery of complex rail infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Use AutoCAD 2D and 3D to create technical drawings across signalling, communications, and electrical design packages
* Ensure all CAD deliverables conform to PTA standards and project requirements
* Deliver high-quality design outputs on schedule
* Lead and mentor junior drafting and design staff
* Contribute to short, medium, and long-term planning for program works
* Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to meet project objectives
Skills And Experience Required
* Certificate or Diploma of Drafting or Engineering (minimum)
* Desirable: Higher qualification in Drafting or Engineering
* Minimum 10+ years experience in Railway Signalling, Communications, and Electrical CAD design
* Experience with rail projects and PTA drafting standards
* Highly proficient in AutoCAD 2D and 3D
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to read and interpret engineering plans
* Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
* Demonstrated CAD design proficiency with a verifiable track record
* Leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support other team members
