Procurement Lead New Business Role Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Procurement Lead – New Business, where you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality procurement solutions that contribute to successful business outcomes.
You will work closely with leadership, functional teams, and external partners to deliver procurement input into bids, tenders, and investment opportunities, ensuring compliant, cost-effective, and value-driven procurement solutions.
Australian Defence security clearance is required; current clearance is advantageous.
About the Role
* Supporting the Development and Review of Procurement Solutions: You will support the development and review of procurement solutions for bids, proposals, and contracts in line with our policies and compliance requirements.
* Subcontractor Engagement and Quotations: You will assist with subcontractor engagement, quotations, and documentation to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant inputs to customer submissions.
* Liaising with Category Managers: You will liaise with Category Managers to align with category plans and incorporate supplier and market insights.
* Standardized Procurement Processes: You will contribute to the implementation of standardized procurement processes, templates, and governance.
* Sustainability and Risk Management: You will support the integration of sustainability, diversity, and risk management into procurement activities.
* Maintaining Compliance Awareness: You will maintain awareness of compliance, restrictions, and accreditations relevant to Defence and national security.
* Collaboration with Supply Chain Teams: You will work with Supply Chain, Finance, Logistics, and Trade Control teams to ensure coordinated procurement practices.
* Providing Guidance: You will provide guidance to project and business development teams on procurement requirements.
About You
* Tertiary Qualification: A tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
* Previous Experience: Previous experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial roles, ideally within Defence, Aerospace, or other highly regulated sectors.
* Bid and Project Procurement: Demonstrated experience contributing to bid or project procurement activities.
* Supplier Engagement: Experience engaging with suppliers, preparing requests for quotation, and reviewing supplier proposals.
* Defence and Secure Government Environments: Solid experience working in Defence and Secure Government environments with focus on Defence and Aerospace markets.
* Procurement Governance: Familiarity with procurement governance frameworks, compliance obligations, and risk management processes.
* Contract Compliance: Knowledge of contract compliance, trade controls, and supplier assurance processes.
* Strong Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse supplier proposals for risks, gaps, or opportunities.
* Effective Communication: Effective communication and collaboration skills across multiple functions and geographies.
* Sustainability and Social Value: Awareness of sustainability, diversity, and social value considerations in procurement.
