About the role
We are seeking a dedicated After-Hours Youth Support Worker! You will provide consistent support to young men and women who are homeless or at risk of experiencing homelessness. Additionally, you will support case management plans and create a therapeutic environment within the crisis accommodation setting.
Responsibilities include
* Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all residents residing within the refuge setting
* Assist residents to manage and maintain individual and shared living spaces
* Ensure the safe management of the crisis accommodation program after hours in conducting a comprehensive handover to colleagues
* Work to the direction of case management plans in assisting young people to attend appointments
* Assist residents with range of activities in preparing for independent living: meals preparation; life and living skills; health and hygiene; recreation and exercise
This is a fixed-term full-time position, contracted until December, based in Shepparton, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 3.
What you will have
* Minimum diploma level qualification in Community Services, Social Services or related field
* Certificate IV recognised with experience and willingness to study towards Diploma or above qualifications
* Relevant experience in Social Service environment preferably youth sector
* A Victoria Working with Children check is required prior to commencement.
* A current Driver’s Licence
