An exciting opportunity exists for someone to take on a transition to Nurse Practitioner role in the Emergency Department at Wollongong Hospital. The Transitional Nurse Practitioner for Emergency (TNP) is a temporary 3 year position who will develop high level clinical expertise and support for the Emergency Department whilst working towards their Endorsed Nurse Practitioner qualification.
The TNP will develop advanced clinical leadership and utilise advanced assessment, diagnosis and evaluation skills to provide health care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department. The TNP will develop autonomy in the Emergency Department setting and will have the authority to make decisions consistent with their scope of practice, and freedom to act on those decisions as per Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
The TNP will contribute to the advancement of quality health care systems within the emergency environment to promote efficient patient flow, care excellence and high patient satisfaction. Maintain responsibilities for personal and professional development by participating in training/education activities, and performance reviews in order to continuously improve the level and quality of service.

Wollongong Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is the Illawarra Shoalhaven's major referral and teaching hospital and has a bed-base count of more than 500.
