About the role
Two roles, a Payroll Officer and Payroll Administrator have become available within the accounts team of this award-winning business services organisation in Milton. The Payroll Officer's primary responsibility is ensure a high level of compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements maintained and updated through complex excel spreadsheets.
The role requires a high level of technical payroll experience (you will be operating across several entities), specifically exposure to preparing, recording and reconciling superannuation, redundancy trusts, portable long-service leave and payroll tax. You will report to the Group Payroll Manager and will be supported by the Payroll Administrator on a daily basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Process end-to-end payroll on a weekly and fortnightly basis across multiple entities
* Accurately collate and verify timesheets, leave requests and payroll data
* Respond to employee payroll enquiries regarding pay, deductions, entitlements and leave
* Ensure payroll compliance with Fair Work legislation, NES, modern awards and state-based requirements
* Process payroll adjustments, corrections and back-payments as required
* Support Single Touch Payroll (STP) submissions and statutory reporting obligations
* Assist with end-of-month, quarterly and ad hoc payroll reporting
* Maintain payroll systems (Employment Hero and KeyPay) and support system updates and improvements
* Provide guidance to employees and managers on payroll self-service functions
* Contribute to audits and continuous improvement of payroll processes
Skills, Experience and Qualities required:
* Minimum 3 years payroll experience is essential
* Diploma in Payroll, Accounting, Business Administration or similar
* Understanding and competence with modern awards, NES, Fair Work legislation
* Must have high attention to detail and accuracy with a genuine commitment to data integrity
