Primary objective
To provide comprehensive, high quality dental prosthetic and technician services to optimise the oral health of eligible
clients.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. To conduct the examination, assessment and treatment of eligible clients for prosthetic care in accordance with
relevant legislation, policies and guidelines.
2. As a member of the clinical dental team, consult with other clinicians and students on matters relating to dental
prosthetic client care.
3. Completion and upkeep of client's dental records and relevant statistical requirements in accordance with TEOHS
protocols.
4. Actively participate in planning, research, quality improvement and staff development activities.
5. In consultation with senior staff, prepare, plan, consult and implement a schedule of urban and remote clinic visits as
required.
6. Provide high quality client-centred care within the Dental Technical Workshop.
7. Provide dental technical services for provision of dental prostheses as required.
8. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being
undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Registration as a Dental Prosthetist with the AHPRA.
2. Demonstrated experience in, and knowledge of, current dental prosthetic procedures.
3. Demonstrated experience and ability to examine, assess and treat adult prosthetic clients and to effectively maintain
accurate client records.
4. Well-developed oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to liaise with other dental
professionals, work colleagues and a diverse client group.
5. Experience in current infection control standards together with experience in dental equipment maintenance.
6. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a client focussed team.
7. Knowledge and understanding of current legislation dealing with Occupational Health and Safety and Equal
Employment Opportunity.
