About the role:
Reporting to the Director of Geriatric Medicine both Professionally and Operationally, some of your duties for the role will include:
- Encourage and supporting teamwork and co-ordination amongst medical, allied health, nursing and administrative staff to ensure better service outcomes
- Supervise junior medical staff as required facilitating and assisting them in the appropriate management of patients
- Ensure where additional medical problems are identified, referral is made to the appropriate specialist(s)
- Communicate with the relevant medical specialty unit medical staff to arrange admission, ongoing care and follow up of patients
- Overseeing the smooth functioning of the clinical area when on shift
About you:
- Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Geriatric Medicine, particularly in residential aged care
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of skilled judgement and medical competence in a multidisciplinary setting
- Demonstrated participation in approved continuing medical education since attaining specialist qualification
- Respect for the rights and responsibilities of patients and their families
