Role Overview
We are seeking someone (trade qualified preferred but not essential) who has experience as a Welder to join our team located in Burnie Tasmania.
This role will see you being responsible for repairs and maintenance of transport equipment and shipping line equipment, fabrication and some site work.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Some of the duties and responsibilities may include the following:
Carry out all instructions within set timeframes
Always work in a safe manner
Complete time sheets and relevant work sheets.
Complete repairs and maintenance as directed
Report all damages, faulty equipment and/or accidents
Participate in OH&S; & OH&S; Toolbox meetings
Sound knowledge of welding and workshop practices
Strong service orientation
Understanding of requirements for handling dangerous goods
Competent in the use of MIG welding techniques
Competent in using oxy and acetylene equipment and in the use of hand and powered tools
Sound understanding in the concept of providing a service to clients in a third party contracted logistics
About you
Good communications skills, both verbal and written
Being a team player
Willingness to learn
Welding certificates or undertaking of a Welding course (preferred)
Licenses: C-Class
