ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY The Strategic Communications team sits within Council’s Corporate Performance Directorate and is responsible for providing high quality media and communications services to all stakeholders including our Community, Executive Team, Senior Leadership Team and Council staff. The team provides timely advice and assistance to internal and external customers on a range of communications functions including content creation and design, media and public relations management, digital and social media management, marketing, advertising, promotions, print and brand management. Reporting to the Coordinator Communications Services, the Graphic Designer (Film and Video) provides graphics services to Council service areas by creating and designing multimedia materials to promote Council services, policies, activities and events. The successful applicant will have experience using various computer packages and creating various projects from including brief, design scope, concept development and production delivery. The successful applicant will require: Tertiary qualification in graphic design or a related field and/or a minimum 2 years’ experience in graphics design role Advanced skills in video editing and video creation Demonstrated knowledge and experience in photography and videography Demonstrated experience in web design and multimedia Ability to consult, share information and work collaboratively Ability to demonstrate project management skills Ability to manage diverse and competing priorities and meet deadlines Ability to be self-motivated and complete work unsupervised Class C driver’s licence Valid Working with Children Check clearance number (or ability to obtain) Download the position description here for more information.
