- The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of the largest providers of homelessness services across the country. Our services support adults and families with children, offering accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, and community connection services.
- About the role
- We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Case Managers to join our team and work directly with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander men, particularly those transitioning from custody or alcohol and drug rehabilitation services, who are at risk of homelessness. This role will focus on providing tailored, hands-on case management to help men overcome challenges and find stable housing solutions. You will be instrumental in empowering these men to build better futures through social inclusion, community engagement, and access to the support services they need.
- Based in Cessnock, NSW, this is a full time, Max Term, 12-month position.

You will successfully
- Provide client-centred case management support tailored specifically to the needs of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander men, especially those transitioning from custody or rehabilitation services.
- Lead and facilitate the Brothers Healing Program, a program focused on the unique needs of men, including setup, delivery, participant assessments, and ensuring compliance with all government requirements.
- Develop and maintain individualised case plans that align with each client’s background, goals, and evolving needs.
- Ensure all interactions are culturally safe and non-discriminatory, prioritising respect, dignity, and individual rights in your approach.
- Coordinate wraparound support services to ensure the men you work with receive the comprehensive, sustainable support they need to achieve long-term success.
- You will have
- Tertiary or other qualifications within community services, social work or related discipline (Minimum Certificate IV, Diploma, or working toward a degree)
- A commitment to empowering men to build independence, resilience, and stronger community connections.
- Knowledge of services and supports that specifically address the needs of men affected by the criminal justice system, AOD use, or housing instability.
- Solid level of experience (minimum 2+ years) in the implementation of case management and systems for disadvantaged and/or complex needs clients.

- Experience of working within an inclusive practice, including with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, women, men & families is highly desirable.
