We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and pro-active Maintenance Manager to join our team. Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for the management, scheduling, and co-ordination of maintenance activities, as well as trouble shooting, problem solving and finding solutions.
This is an exciting and varied opportunity that combines managing the maintenance function and being hands on. As Maintenance Manager, you will also be responsible for managing a small maintenance team of Fitters, providing direction and support to the team to foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
Main Duties
* Management of the maintenance function and solving maintenance related problems with a view of increasing asset life and ensuring minimal down time.
* Attend breakdowns, troubleshoot and locate sources of problems as a matter of urgency and with minimal downtime to production. Problem solve and offer solutions.
* Perform regular inspections and safety checks of equipment and machinery to help diagnose malfunctions.
* Hands on maintenance tasks working as part of the team – Electrical skills and expertise highly desirable.
* Manage, schedule and allocate maintenance jobs and work orders in order of priority amongst the maintenance team.
* Develop and co-ordinate preventative maintenance and servicing schedule, ensuring associated documentation and records are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
* Lead and guide a small team – provide support, expertise and direction with a focus on a collaborative team culture.
Skills/Experience
* Minimum 3 years maintenance/industry experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
* Trade qualified – Electrical licence (A Grade) highly desirable. Mechanical Fitter background also considered.
* Knowledge of PLC fault finding and programming skills desirable.
* Experience in machine automation and control.
* Ability to troubleshoot, fault find and solve problems independently.
* Ability to read drawings, specifications and instructions.
* Previous experience in a supervisory capacity in a manufacturing/production environment.
* Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to co-ordinate and manage work activities effectively.
* Strong leader with the ability to build effective working relationships and provide guidance and direction.
* Good computer and system skills.
* Own transport and driver's licence.
Working hours are typically day hours Monday to Friday, however there may be a requirement to be provide coverage across either the Early or Afternoon shift if required. There may also be occasional weekend work or Callouts to support production.
