About the role The Building and Facilities Manager is responsible for coordinating, supervising, and managing the maintenance, regulatory and statutory compliance and the replacement of the PHIVE/ PTH building assets and equipment in accordance with Council guidelines, policies and procedures across the facilities. This is a key operational role working 38 hours a week (Monday to Sunday). This role will deliver building and facilities services internally and externally to optimise investment and cost effectiveness, whilst ensuring a safe and compliant building and environment and work closely as required with Councils Corporate Building and Facilities team, On a daily basis you will: Manage day‑to‑day building operations, including the BMCS, cleaning, maintenance, asset replacement, and oversight of all facilities and technology within the building envelope. Lead, roster, brief, and supervise facilities, maintenance, cleaning, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer experiences across PHIVE and Community Hubs. Maintain public safety and security in collaboration with the Security Concierge, act as Chief Fire Warden, manage the Defects Liability Period, and ensure completion of statutory requirements including the Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS). Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and service providers to ensure continuity of services, resolve complex issues, and deliver high‑quality facilities outcomes. Manage facilities planning and budgets (including LTF), purchasing and inventory, prepare reports for Council and senior stakeholders, and provide data‑driven, action‑oriented insights to support decision‑making. About You The successful candidate should have 5 Years in a similar Building / Facilities Manager Role, ideally managing a multipurpose, community focussed facility. The candidate must be available to work on both weekends, Saturday and Sunday. You will also bring the below essential requirements : Tertiary qualification in Trades, Engineering / Technical, or Facility Management environment. Substantial working knowledge and experience with modern technologies including building management control systems (BMCS) and other related building digital control systems. Significant experience in a building and facilities management role in a complex organisation, with a proven track record of achieving objectives. Experience with complex HVAC systems and related Green Star integrations, and problem solving within these disciplines. Experience coordinating, rostering and leading staff in a multi-task environment. Experience and expertise in financial and budget management and general administration of venue and facilities co-ordination.
