Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay rangeA$380.00/daily - A$450.00/dailyDirect message the job poster from TalentRecruiting Consultant at Talent InternationalThe OpportunityOur client is a community focused Federal Government Agency, currently seeking multiple Graduate Actuaries to help support the monitoring, financial sustainability and risks assessments of the Agency's insurance scheme.Initial hourly rate contract spanning 12 months with a further 12 month extension, offering daily rates between $380 - $450 inclusive of super per day, to be based out of our clients Richmond or Geelong office with 2 days working from home.Please note that you must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible to work for this Federal Government Agency.Responsibilities will include:Extracting, cleansing and preparing of data from multiple sources, in particular the data warehouse under the supervision of more experienced team members.Efficiently using relevant software including Microsoft Office and SAS.Updating and replication of regular performance monitoring.Utilising statistical and mathematical modelling techniques to undertake analytical work on a range of tasks under the guidance of more experienced team members, including actuarial monitoring and analyses, data tabulations, scheme projects and cost benefit analyses.Assisting with ad hoc modelling requests and report production.Effectively communicating (verbally and in writing) the progress of work responsibilities and outcomes of work undertaken.About you:Australian citizenship is mandatory to be considered eligible to work for this Federal Government Agency.Completed a relevant degree in actuarial studies, mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or a related field to align with agreed actuary parameters in 2024.Familiarity with, and willingness to develop capabilities, in the use of software packages (Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint), statistical and programming platforms (e.g. SAS, R).
