Switchboard Operator (Telephonist Level 3) – Coordinate all telephone and paging communications at Singleton Hospital, the community's heritage-listed health facility. The role is a permanent part‐time position (11 hours per week), based at the Reception Desk in the Emergency Department.
Job Responsibilities
* Operate the hospital switchboard and manage inbound and outbound calls.
* Coordinate emergency paging systems, including cardiac arrest, trauma alert, and security requests.
* Provide a professional, courteous, and efficient service to patients, visitors, and staff.
* Perform clerical duties as required.
* Work within a 7‐day rotating roster covering a 24‐hour service and be available for all shifts.
Qualifications and Selection Criteria
* Experience operating hospital switchboards and paging systems.
* Ability to assist staff and clients in a high‐volume environment.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm, clear, and courteous.
* Willingness to work across a rotating roster, including all shifts.
