We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to join our dynamic team at Hume City Council in Melbourne, Australia. This temporary position offers a maximum term until 10th May 2026.

- Salary: $80,327 – $119,244 per annum plus superannuation in accordance with qualification and experience.

What you’ll be doing
- Develop and implement engaging, play‑based learning programmes that align with the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework.
- Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that promotes children’s physical, emotional, social and cognitive development.
- Observe, document and assess children’s learning and development, maintaining accurate records and portfolios.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to plan and deliver high‑quality educational experiences.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing career development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Contribute to the centre’s continuous improvement efforts and quality assurance processes.
- Mentor and support other staff members in their professional growth.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on children’s progress and addressing any concerns.
Required Certifications & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field.
- Qualifications suitable for a teacher under the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010.
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration and police check completed within the last six months.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and asthma management certifications.
