Butler Partners is looking to fill multiple ENTRY LEVEL & EXPERIENCED positions at our Rockhampton office. We seek energetic and enthusiastic individuals willing to learn and gain real-life experience as either an ASSISTANT or EXPERIENCED TECHNICIAN in the Construction Materials Testing sector. The company offers career growth through external training courses completed during work hours, along with on-the-job training.
As a soil technician, you will be supervised by senior staff and instructed by the Laboratory Manager. Your responsibilities will include assisting in soil, concrete, and aggregate sampling and preparation, laboratory testing, and supporting field technicians on local or remote infrastructure projects. You will work across our scope of accreditation in accordance with standards such as AS1289, Qld Main Roads, AS1012 & AS1141. All duties will be performed under the company's management systems and legislative requirements.

About the Role
* Assist in soil preparation, basic laboratory testing, and field sampling promptly.
* Help prepare samples for processing and testing.
* Work and communicate effectively within a team.
* Maintain high standards of quality at all times.
Key Duties
* Perform routine tests, calculate results, and verify data accurately.
* Complete sampling and testing tasks as instructed by the Laboratory Manager in a timely manner.
* Ensure quality standards are upheld in the laboratory and field.
* Participate in internal and external training as necessary.
* Adhere to quality, health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
* Keep the laboratory work areas clean and organized.
Key Requirements
* Ability to pass drug & alcohol screening.
* Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain).
* Physically fit to lift heavy loads repeatedly.
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel and work flexible hours when required.
