Maintenance Officer
Barcoo Multi-Purpose Site - Blackall
Permanent Part Time - 30 hours a fortnight
Join our dedicated team in keeping our outdoor spaces thriving and our facilities safe, functional, and inviting. If you love being outdoors, getting your hands dirty, and taking pride in well‐kept gardens and grounds, this role offers the perfect blend of variety and purpose.
Every day will bring something different, from shaping hedges to fixing minor repairs, using your practical know‐how to ensure our sites run smoothly and look their best.
In this role, you will:
* Bring gardens to life through regular hedge trimming, pruning, fertilising, mulching, and plant health care
* Maintain outdoor areas by removing garden waste, managing weeds, and keeping paths and common spaces tidy
* Complete general maintenance and repair work using your trade skills
* Support day‐to‐day tasks such as minor repairs.
* Follow the preventative maintenance schedule to keep facilities in excellent condition
This role suits someone who loves variety, enjoys working outdoors, and takes pride in creating beautiful, safe spaces for the community to enjoy.
Our ideal candidate has:
* Current First Aid and CPR certificates
* Knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements, or willingness to obtain certification within one month
* Current driver's licence
* Solid experience in a maintenance, handyman, or groundskeeping role
* Experience working in the aged care or community services sector — desirable
* Hold valid Australian Work Rights - Unfortunately we are not currently able to sponsor
