Job Description
As a Senior Legal Counsel in our commission, you will work independently under limited direction to provide client-focused legal services to investigators and support the commission's staff on complex matters related to trade remedies law and investigative practice.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing legal advice verbally and in writing on statutory interpretation, trade remedies law, evidentiary matters, and investigations practice/procedure
* Managing merits review matters, including drafting submissions and participating in conferences with Anti-Dumping Review Panel members
* Monitoring developments in the Anti-Dumping Review Panel, the Federal Court, and the World Trade Organization, and informing the commission of consequences for legislation, policy, and practice
The role requires strong collaboration and advocacy skills, as well as highly developed leadership, planning, and organizational abilities. A commitment to professional and personal integrity is also essential.
