The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Estimator to undertake a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice over a two-year program which will enable you to obtain industry skills and knowledge under the supervision of qualified and experienced professionals, while also attending TAFE to complete your certification.
The location for this traineeship will be based at Broadmeadows and Tullamarine.
During the program, you will be a valued member of our team and will experience a variety of work environments within the electricity supply industry which will enhance your skills and career development opportunities.
What You'll Be Doing
* Attend training sessions to develop a foundational understanding of the estimation process and relevant software tools (e.g. SAP, excel)
* Shadow experienced estimators and field crews to gain practical insights into project estimation
* Assist with the accurate entry of materials and project data into SAP
* Maintain organised records of estimates, materials requests, and project documentation
* Support the estimation team by preparing initial estimates under supervision
* Participate in quality checks of estimates and materials entries to ensure accuracy and completeness
* Communicate effectively with project managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates
* Collaborate with other team members to support the overall efficiency of the estimation process
* Support the analysis of estimation data to identify areas for improvement
* Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and compliance standards
* Participate in safety and compliance training as required
What We're Looking For
This is an exciting time for our industry and we would love to be able to share this journey with someone who is committed and eager to learn. When you complete the program successfully, you will have completed all competencies for a Certificate IV in Project Management Practice.
To be considered for this role you will have the following:
* A minimum age of 18 and drivers licence by the time you commence the traineeship in January 2026
* Technically savvy when it comes to technology and learning new systems
* A good positive attitude and a willingness to work as a team will no doubt see you succeed in your new role
