Financial Accountant
The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team in Toowong on a 12-month contract. You will play a key role in assisting the Finance Manager with the accounting function for several companies within Auto & General, maintaining best-practice control and ensuring seamless delivery to operational finance. Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of monthly management reports and annual financial statements
* Processing journals, including accruals, prepayments, and provisions
* General ledger reconciliations
* Analysis of company expenditure
* Management reporting pack preparation
* Review and approval of AP/AR workflows
* P&L review, cost allocation, and analysis
* Assistance with the annual external audit
* Support the business with financial enquiries
* Assist with ad-hoc projects as required
* Seek continuous improvement of financial accounting processes
* Comply with workplace health & safety protocols
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree qualified in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, working towards or newly CPA/CA qualified
* Minimum 3 years' experience in an accounting role within a commercial or chartered environment
* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Gmail, and an integrated financial software package
* Experience with business intelligence software
* Self-motivated, efficient, and able to work autonomously
* Strong team player with initiative and attention to detail
