PASTORAL ASSOCIATE – FULL TIME, 12 MONTH CONTRACT

The Bayside Catholic Mission is seeking a committed and compassionate Pastoral Associate to support the pastoral, liturgical and outreach life of our three vibrant parishes. Working closely with the Parish Priest, you will help lead and deliver our mission, pastoral care and community engagement in alignment with the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.
Key Responsibilities
* Strengthen relationships with parish school communities; support RELs with School Masses, Sacramental Programs and Children’s Liturgy.
* Coordinate the Sacramental Program for children outside parish schools.
* Support outreach to parishioners, including those in government housing and those experiencing disadvantage.
* Assist in volunteer formation and coordination across parish ministries.
* Attend weekend liturgies across all parish sites to foster community connection.
* Support RCIA, adult faith formation and pastoral visitation.
* Contribute to Parish Pastoral Council and Child Safeguarding Committee.
* Assist with parish administration and reception when required.
Skills & Experience
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and Pastoral Associate accreditation.
* Experience in parish or pastoral ministry, including liturgy preparation, pastoral counselling and outreach.
* Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship‑building skills; ability to work with diverse groups.
* High computer literacy and familiarity with social media platforms.
* Ability to work collaboratively, lead volunteers, and work with initiative and minimal supervision.
* Administrative capability and strong organisational skills.
* Current driver’s licence and own vehicle.
