Based at Longreach State High School, this permanent role also supports three small schools (Winton State School, Bedourie State School, Birdsville State School). You will provide expert guidance to ensure inclusive, high-quality learning for students with disabilities, leading curriculum and inclusion practices, fostering community connections, and ensuring supports and adjustments align with legislation and policy.Department and School InformationThe Department of Education is committed to building an inclusive, diverse workforce reflecting the community we serve. We aim to help every student thrive both academically and beyond.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate advice and support from the Special Education and Early Childhood Development Programs.Lead these programs, advising classroom teachers on support for students with disabilities.Provide guidance to school leadership on planning and implementing reasonable adjustments for students with disabilities.Coordinate targeted teaching and case management for students requiring significant adjustments.Support staff in accessing specialist services and professional development.Participate in school decision-making and contribute to school goals and vision.Implement systems to monitor and record data on students with disabilities.Build partnerships with parents, agencies, and community groups to support students.Manage resources to achieve educational and support goals.Please refer to the attached role description for mandatory requirements.Application ProcessAttach a resume with contact details for 2 referees familiar with your work.Attach a 2-page statement addressing Key Capabilities 1-4 as per the Role Description.We support inclusive recruitment and welcome any necessary accommodations.
