Job Title: Fire Equipment Coordinator
About the Role
This is a key position within our rural fire service, focusing on the development and management of operational capabilities related to specialized equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with brigades to ensure compliance with departmental procedures and standards.
Main Responsibilities
* Coordinate the issuing, testing, and maintenance of specialized equipment such as P3 masks, gas detectors, radios, and tablets.
* Engage with brigades to deliver equipment-related education and training.
* Maintain accurate inventory lists for effective equipment management.
* Liaise with external agencies for emergency preparedness and response support.
* Contribute to the development and evaluation of training materials and procedures.
* Lead activities in relation to equipment purchasing, trials, and user evaluation.
Requirements
* A minimum of Rural Officer Two (RFSO2) qualifications or equivalent experience.
* Proven commitment to maintaining bushfire competencies and operating in a team environment.
* Ability to participate in out-of-hours shift rosters during disaster operations.
* Thorough knowledge of concepts, strategies, and issues associated with managing rural fire services.
Additional Information
The role requires flexibility and may involve working outside standard hours, including night shifts and weekends. Travel and deployment across the state may also be required.
