We are seeking an exceptional and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Executive Leadership Team - a rare opportunity to shape the financial future of a purpose-driven organisation. As CFO, you will be a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, playing a critical role in guiding CVGT’s long-term sustainability, growth, and transformation. This is more than a finance role - it’s a leadership opportunity to influence the direction of a nationally recognised not-for-profit committed to inclusion, innovation, and impact.
You will lead a high-performing finance team and oversee a broad portfolio including finance, payroll, insurance, property, and fleet. With a focus on clarity, innovation, and operational excellence, you’ll ensure our financial operations are agile, future-ready, and aligned with our mission to deliver exceptional services and expand our reach.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with CVGT’s vison and growth objectives.
* Executive Partnership: Provide insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board to support strategic decision making.
* Operational Excellence: Oversee financial operations, compliance, and governance across multiple business units.
* Team Empowerment: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
* Risk & Governance: Champion robust risk management and governance frameworks to ensure financial integrity.
* Commercial Acumen: Contribute to tenders, proposals, and supplier negotiations with a strategic lens.
Key Result Areas
* Empowered Teams: Build and lead a high-performing finance function that delivers results and fosters continuous improvement.
* Strategic Financial Outcomes: Deliver dynamic forecasting, insightful analytics, and long-term financial strategies that support growth and sustainability.
* Operational Excellence: Ensure financial systems are efficient, compliant, and future-ready, with strong oversight of payroll, insurance, property, and fleet.
* Risk & Governance Leadership: Embed robust governance and risk frameworks that protect organisational integrity and support resilience.
* Compliance & Safety Culture: Champion WHS, audit readiness, and quality standards across all financial operations.
Key Selection Criteria
* ACA/AASA/CPA qualifications and relevant tertiary education.
* Proven executive level experience in financial leadership, ideally within not-for-profit or employment services.
* Exceptional strategic planning, financial modelling, and analytical capabilities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with Board-level reporting experience.
* A collaborative leadership style and commitment to purpose-driven work.
* Full working rights in Australia, valid driver’s licence, and ability to pass pre-employment checks.
