About the Role
The Maintenance Officer is responsible for providing both preventative and reactive maintenance of the home to ensure a safe and well‐maintained living and working setting. The Maintenance Officer supports the Home Manager/Maintenance Manager to ensure the home and all equipment is maintained to meet the individual needs, wishes, and goals of each resident.
St. Pauls Retirement community provides care to 40 residents. We are located in Cundletown with amazing river views.
Key Responsibilities
- Support service delivery under the direction of Management and/or the Maintenance Manager.
- Promote and contribute to person‑centred care.
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, cleaning ceiling fans and vents, and repairing plant and equipment.
- Liaise with contractors, perform facility inductions, ensure all WHS documentation and procedures are followed.
- Undertake routine corrective maintenance or notify the external provider if repairs are required.
What You Bring
- Experience in a maintenance/gardening role.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
- Working knowledge of WHS and infection control.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer‑focused services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Driver’s licence class.
- A trade background or maintenance experience in aged care, education or community based fields is an advantage.
- Trade qualification and/or experience is desired.
