Position Objective
This position manages the internal and external budget management framework, incorporating the WA Police Force's annual budget submission and mandatory budget reporting processes to government.
Provides professional advice and assistance in the development of financial strategies to obtain the financial resources required to meet the agency's strategic objectives which includes performing cost benefit analysis, financial modelling and other costing exercises on a regular basis.
Specialist Pre-requisite
Dependant on local level business needs, it is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position.
Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the NEGATIVE VETTING LEVEL 2 security clearance.
Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description).
While there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, successful applicants should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to become an Australian Citizen prior to appointment.

Applicants are asked to address the following work-related requirements in no more than two (2) pages:
Business and financial analytical skills
- Applying business and financial analysis techniques and methodologies.
Gathering information and analysing current and emerging trends, issues, impacts, opportunities and options.
Developing models, processes, standards and criteria to support budget management and corporate decision-making processes.
Conceptual skills
- Visualising concepts, analysing and understanding ideas, systems, data and interrelationships.
Formulating possible solution and options to address business problems and issues and making recommendations.
Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV).
Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two referees who can comment on the applicant's ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements.
Applicants should nominate at least one immediate supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.
Other Conditions & Information
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the metropolitan area.
If the successful applicant declines or vacates the advertised position, the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process.
Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.
Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant is not a current WA Police Force employee.
Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
