Prototyping Engineer, APJ Prototyping and Cloud Engineering (PACE)
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Prototyping Engineer to join the APJ Prototyping and Cloud Engineering team.
The role focuses on building fast, AI-driven prototypes and delivering tangible technology and business outcomes for our global customers.
The engineer will work in an agile, multi-functional team that emphasizes lean principles, iterative development, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Build and launch prototypes that translate customers' strategic visions into real-world technology solutions.
Design, implement, and maintain distributed systems, automation workflows, and APIs using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, and others.
Apply best practices in security, performance, reliability, and operational excellence across all prototypes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams – product, design, data, and operations – to define product features and drive feature delivery.
Mentor and coach teammates, share knowledge, and champion a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
Support customers on-site and remotely across the APJ region, traveling as required.
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of experience in software development, cloud computing, or related disciplines.
2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in application and infrastructure development.
Strong knowledge of distributed systems, automation, database design, API design, and security fundamentals.
Proficiency in at least one of .
NET, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in rapid prototype or start-up environments.
Experience migrating legacy solutions to the cloud.
Hands-on exposure to AWS services from a DevOps perspective, including S3, Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, Bedrock, Control Tower, and associated security services.
Demonstrated ability to develop large-scale, high-performance distributed systems.
