LIMS Developer | Laboratory Systems Modernisation
Are you a Developer with a passion for scientific data systems? We are seeking a talented LIMS Software Engineer to join a major multi-site modernisation project. You will play a key role in simplifying laboratory workflows, developing custom functionality, and ensuring high-quality data management for a leading scientific organisation.
This is a collaborative role working alongside Subject Matter Experts and Senior Developers to deliver a unified, efficient, and secure LIMS solution.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior Developer, you will be responsible for:
* Coding & Configuration: Developing new macros and custom functionality using proprietary LIMS scripting languages.
* Solution Design: Participating in requirements gathering workshops to translate business needs into technical specifications.
* Testing & QA: Leading unit testing, bug fixing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including scenario mapping and script preparation.
* Documentation: Producing high-quality technical documentation and maintaining best-practice software engineering standards.
* Support & Training: Providing technical input for end-user training and assisting LIMS Administrators with BAU support and system enhancements.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise and an understanding of laboratory environments.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Science, or a related field.
* LIMS Expertise: Proven experience with commercial LIMS systems or large-scale computer-based data management systems.
* Technical Skills: Strong coding/scripting abilities and experience in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
* Laboratory Context: Experience working within a scientific analytical laboratory is highly regarded.
* Soft Skills: A self-motivated approach with the ability to exercise sound judgement in a fast-paced, changing environment.
* Baseline security clearance preferred.
