Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Steward to join our team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As a Steward, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our food and beverage areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for both staff and guests.
* Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, dining rooms, and food service equipment according to established standards and procedures
* Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals and supplies
* Collect and dispose of trash and recyclable materials following company guidelines
* Assist in the setup and breakdown of buffets and dining areas
* Maintain cleanliness of dish rooms, storage areas, and other back-of-house spaces
* Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure proper cleaning of dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools
* Support the culinary team by restocking clean dishes, glassware, and utensils
* Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain a clean and organized work environment
* Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor
* Assist with inventory management of cleaning supplies and materials
* Participate in deep cleaning projects as scheduled
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
* Previous experience as a Steward or in a similar role in the hospitality industry (preferred)
* Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitization techniques for food service areas
* Familiarity with food and beverage equipment and materials
* Understanding of food safety principles and hygiene standards
* Proficiency in using chemical cleaning products safely and effectively
* Experience with proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
* Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and internet use
* Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
* Food safety certification (preferred)
* Knowledge of local health and safety regulations in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (preferred)
* Ability to communicate in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
