Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is looking for a passionate and proactive Work Health & Safety (WHS) Liaison Officer to lead safety initiatives across John Hunter Hospital and John Hunter Children's Hospital. You'll be instrumental in creating and sustaining a safe, compliant, and collaborative working environment for staff, patients, and visitors alike.
**About the Role**
As a WHS Liaison Officer, you'll coordinate, manage, and enhance the hospital-wide safety management program. You'll advise leadership teams, deliver site audits, ensure compliance with WHS legislation, and support the implementation of safety systems such as ChemAlert, Occupational Hygiene, and noise management programs. Your expertise will directly contribute to the well-being of everyone who enters our hospitals.
**What You'll Bring**
- A relevant WHS qualification or strong experience in safety management within complex organisations with a willingingness to study a suitable qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management practices.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills - you're confident educating and influencing others.
- Strong project coordination skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities independently.
- A valid NSW driver's licence.
