We're on the hunt for a hands‐on Head Chef to lead the kitchen, drive standards and take full ownership of BOH operations. This role suits a strong leader who thrives in a fast‐paced environment, knows how to manage costs, and can build and lead a solid, stable team.
The Role
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the overall running of the kitchen, ensuring smooth service, consistent food quality and a well‐led team. You'll work closely with the Venue Manager and have support from the wider operations team.
What You'll Be Doing
* Full ownership of kitchen operations
* Lead, train and develop your team
* Manage food and labour costs
* Drive consistency and service standards
* Oversee ordering, stock control and rostering
* Ensure food safety and WHS compliance
* Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials
What We're Looking For
* Previous Head Chef or strong Sous Chef experience
* Experience in high-volume pub or bistro kitchens
* Strong leadership and team development skills
* Solid understanding of food cost, labour and kitchen financials
* Hands‐on, organised and calm under pressure
* Someone who wants to be part of the local community and venue long‐term
