With a strong reputation for safety, quality, and performance, we are seeking an experienced and motivated senior Project Engineer to join our growing team.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Senior Project Engineer will play a key role in the successful delivery of major civil construction projects. This position requires a highly capable professional with proven experience in bulk earthworks, drainage, and sewer infrastructure works, capable of managing project delivery from planning through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate project engineering activities to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable project delivery.
* Manage project planning, programming, cost control, procurement, and resource allocation.
* Oversee the construction and delivery of earthworks, drainage, and sewer infrastructure packages.
* Prepare and review project documentation including ITPs, SWMS, methodologies, RFIs, and quality records.
* Monitor project performance against budget, schedule, and contractual requirements.
* Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to achieve project objectives.
* Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental standards.
* Provide technical support and leadership to site engineers and supervisors.
* Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in civil construction project delivery.
* Demonstrated experience in bulk earthworks.
* Experience in sewer reticulation and sewer infrastructure works.
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, specifications, and quality requirements.
* Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting.
* Excellent contract administration and commercial awareness.
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Proficiency in project management and engineering software.
* Current driver's licence.
* Experience delivering projects for local government, mining, or major infrastructure clients.
* Previous experience in a Senior Project Engineer role.
* Knowledge of Australian standards and civil construction specifications.
