About The Opportunity
We are currently seeking Cleaner/Laundry Assistants to join our team at our Newcastle residence, playing a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. This position is essential in supporting high standards of hygiene, infection control, and overall service quality across our home.
You will be part of a supportive team delivering meaningful day-to‐day services that directly contribute to the comfort, dignity, and wellbeing of our elders.
We have casual and part time opportunities available, ideal for those looking for flexibility across cleaning, laundry, and general support services.
Responsibilities
* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across all areas of the facility, including resident rooms and shared spaces
* Perform cleaning duties such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and waste management in line with schedules and infection control standards
* Ensure cleaning equipment and chemicals are used and stored safely and in accordance with guidelines
* Complete all laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, and distributing linen and residents' personal clothing
* Ensure all laundry items are handled with care, correctly labelled, and returned promptly to residents
* Monitor linen quality, report damaged items, and support stock control processes including recording and ordering supplies
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised laundry and cleaning environment at all times
* Follow all workplace health & safety procedures and use PPE as required
* Report hazards, faulty equipment, or incidents promptly to the Support Services Coordinator
* Work collaboratively with the wider team to support a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for residents
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality
What Success Looks Like for This Role
* Previous experience in cleaning, laundry, or similar support services role (aged care experience highly regarded)
* Understanding of infection control, hygiene, and safe work practices
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast‐paced environment while maintaining high standards
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Good communication skills and a caring, respectful approach to working with elderly residents
* Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with policies and procedures
