The Pilbara Ranger Network (PRN) is a dynamic network dedicated to supporting and strengthening Indigenous ranger teams across the Pilbara region. We bring our member Traditional Owner groups together to collaborate and support each other in achieving cultural, environmental, and community outcomes through ranger programs that honour traditional knowledge and contemporary land management practices.

We're looking for someone energetic, driven, and detail-focused to join our small but dynamic team and help keep our foundations strong. While these tasks are often seen as behind the scenes, we see them as the launchpad for everything we do.
The Pilbara Ranger Network (PRN) connects and supports Aboriginal ranger programs across the Pilbara, bringing people together to share knowledge, build skills, and strengthen land and sea management across Traditional Owner groups.
We are seeking a well-organised and motivated Administration and Logistics Officer who is ready to play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly and our programs thriving. In this role, you'll provide essential administrative support, coordinate logistics for meetings, travel, and field activities, assist with events and communications, and pitch in with other duties that keep our team moving forward. Working closely with the General Manager, PRN staff, and a range of partners and consultants, you'll help bring our activities to life and contribute to a stronger, more connected ranger network.
1. Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative Support
* Provide general administrative assistance to the General Manager and PRN team
* Maintain and organise filing systems
* Coordinate meeting schedules, prepare agendas, and record minutes
* Process invoices, track contracts, and assist with budget monitoring
* Maintain accurate records and databases for network contacts and activities
* Support grant acquittal processes, evaluation and reporting requirements
* Handle general inquiries and communications
Logistics Coordination
* Maintain vehicles including servicing, repairs, and equipment fit-out
* Coordinate travel arrangements for staff and ranger program participants
* Book accommodation, transport, and venues for meetings, workshops, and events
* Organise catering and equipment for PRN activities
* Manage logistics for field trips, training programs, and ranger events
* Liaise with suppliers, service providers, and venue operators
* Track and manage equipment inventory and supplies
* Ensure appropriate insurance and risk management documentations are in place
Events and Communications Support
* Support the Events and Communications Coordinator with the planning and delivery of PRN events
* Assist with participant registration, attendance tracking, and communications
* Coordinate pre-event logistics including venue setup, materials, and resources
* Provide on-ground support during events as required
* Maintain events calendar and coordinate scheduling across the network
* Support the production and distribution of newsletters, reports, and updates
* Coordinate printing, design, and distribution of materials
Other Duties
* Build and maintain positive relationships with ranger programs across the network
* Represent PRN professionally in all interactions
* Support other duties are required
Levels of Authority
This authority should be exercised in a responsible, legitimate, and appropriate manner in the best ethical and commercial interests of the Pilbara Ranger Network. This authority must not conflict with any policy statements, procedures, and instructions.
Occupational Health and Safety Responsibilities
All employees have responsibility for Health and Safety. The employee shall comply with the Workplace Health and Safety Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Workplace Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. The employee shall comply with instructions given by their manager in the respect of the Health and Safety of themselves and the Pilbara Ranger Network Health and Safety of other persons.
1. Selection Criteria
Essential Requirements
* Demonstrated experience in administrative support and coordination roles
* Strong organisational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities
* Experience coordinating logistics for events, meetings, or programs
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Pilbara region
* Police clearance and working with children's check
Desireable Requirements and Experience
* Experience working with Aboriginal organisations or communities
* Knowledge of the Pilbara region and Traditional Owner groups
* Experience with financial administration and budget tracking
* Familiarity with project management tools and systems
* Experience working in remote or regional contexts
* Knowledge of natural resource management or environmental programs
* Experience with database management and reporting systems
* Experience in natural resource management, conservation, or environment communications
