About the Position
In terms of food, Wests Nelson Bay offers outstanding quality of food that has become a favourite for local members and seasonal guests. Traditional club food offerings and modern options, including local seafood, give variety to this opportunity for a Full‐time Chef to join the team. The role involves the preparation, cooking and presentation of all food items across the catering operations.
What you will be doing:
* Ensure prep sheets are completed
* Prepare high‐quality food during service
* Assist other sections when required
* Clean work areas
* Assist with set‐up and close‐down of service
* Store food to hygiene standards
* Dispose of waste appropriately
This position requires availability for split shifts for breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Availability for work on Friday nights, weekends and throughout the week is a must. Seasonal peaks run through summer, public holiday and school holiday periods, so availability during these peaks is essential.
About You
You're an energetic team player passionate about great food and genuine service. You take pride in presentation, consistency, and creating meals that make people smile.
You'll bring:
* A Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
* Availability to work nights and weekends.
* A flexible attitude and willingness to support our Bistro operations as needed.
