We are looking for a seasoned, organised, and committed Senior Advisor, Community Engagement to join Creek Connect, the Jacobs and Seymour Whyte joint venture delivering the Upper South Creek Networks Program on behalf of Sydney Water.
The ideal candidate will work independently, leading aspects of the communications and engagement program under the guidance of the Program Manager, Community & Stakeholder Engagement. Prior experience in communications and engagement during the construction/delivery phase of major infrastructure programs, especially in the water sector, is essential.
This role is primarily based in Parramatta and Austral, with some hybrid working available. Many project sites are not accessible via public transport and require travel between and within active construction sites. A current Driver Licence and the ability to drive on site are essential.
On the program you will
* Develop and deliver community and stakeholder engagement plans and high-quality communication materials.
* Engage with stakeholders and community members through multiple channels and maintain accurate records.
* Build strong on-site relationships and provide guidance on engagement issues and complaints.
* Identify community and stakeholder risks and help minimise impacts.
* Promote organisational values and embed a strong customer-focused culture.
* Contribute to reporting, continuous improvement, and positive organisational reputation.
Requirements
* 8+ years relevant community engagement and/or stakeholder engagement experience.
* IAP2 (International Association of Public Participation) certificate and demonstrated application of this framework.
* Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, sustainability, environmental science/management, urban planning, engineering or other social science disciplines.
* Experience delivering communications and engagement on infrastructure projects, especially in the construction/delivery phase and preferably in the water sector.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and strong attention to detail.
* Prior experience in interdisciplinary teams, large engagement teams and mentoring junior members collaboratively.
* Strong organisational, problem‐solving and critical‐thinking skills.
* A 'can do' attitude with interest in continuous learning and improvement.
* Full driver licence and confidence driving for work purposes.
