The Automation Specialist role is pivotal in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining regulated diagnostic instruments and platforms, in accordance with medical device standards. The position will be required to collaborate with scientists, engineers, and regulatory experts to create robust, scalable, and compliant solutions that improve diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes.
KEY DUTIES
* Write code and scripts to automate specific processes of robotic systems
* Define configurations and layouts of robots based on required specifications and available options
* Configure hardware and electronic parts
* Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions throughout the product development lifecycle.
* Collect requirements from end-users, customers or clients to create the best automation strategies
* Support verification and validation activities, including unit testing, system testing, and documentation.
* Collaborate with other business departments to understand how automation can improve a company's productivity
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or similar discipline. Life science graduates will also be considered with suitable automation experience.
* 2-3 Years experience in a similar role.
* Knowledge or experience in Laboratory Automation.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to train and knowledge share across the team.
* Strong organisational skills, with ability to prioritise but also manage data from multiple sources.
Desirable:
* Understanding of molecular diagnostics, immunoassays, or clinical workflows
* Experience developing software for automated laboratory systems or point-of-care diagnostics.
* Familiarity with IEC62304, ISO13485, ISO14971
