Position: Community Worker - Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner

We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team, with a focus on supporting clients through tailored behaviour support interventions.
Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive behavioural assessments and develop individualized behaviour support plans.
* Implement and monitor behaviour strategies, adjusting plans to meet client needs and ensure effectiveness.
* Provide ongoing support and training to clients' families and caregivers.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic client support.
* Advocate for clients and facilitate their participation in community activities.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with legal and organizational standards.
* Assess clients' needs and planning, developing and implementing educational, training and support programs that benefit not only specific clients but the community as a whole.
* Interviewing clients and assessing the nature and extent of difficulties.
* Monitoring and reporting on the progress of clients.
* Refer clients to agencies that can provide additional help.
* Assess community need and resources for health, welfare, housing, employment, training and other facilities and services, and work collaboratively with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses about community issues and promoting awareness of community resources and services.
* Support families and provide education and care for children and disabled persons in adult service units, group housing and government institutions.
* Prepare submissions for funding and resources, and reports to government bodies and other agencies.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
* Degree in Psychology, Social Work, applied behaviour analysis or related field.
* Certification or significant experience in Positive Behaviour Support or a similar behavioural intervention framework.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse client groups.
* Proven ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and discretion.
* Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening, Criminal History Check
* Driver's Licence with nil restrictions
Desirable
* Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
* Knowledge and experience working within the local community, knowledgeable regarding resources and services.

Pay and Schedule
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
Schedule: 8 hour shift
