The Opportunity: We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly skilled Head Chef to lead a dynamic kitchen team. This full-time, salaried position offers an outstanding opportunity for an entrepreneurial chef to establish The Welcome Home as THE dining destination in Longreach, celebrated for quality outback dining experiences enriched with distinctive character, personality, and flavour profiles.
In this role, you will oversee all kitchen operations and craft memorable dining experiences for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You will also plan and execute catering for our signature seasonal events, guaranteeing excellence in every bite.
What You'll Do:
* Recruit, lead, train, mentor, and inspire a high-performing kitchen team.
* Develop and execute creative, authentic menus that highlight the best of outback flavours and ingredients.
* Manage kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, and cost control, to ensure profitability.
* Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
* Champion food safety practices and uphold industry standards.
* Foster a positive, collaborative, and innovative kitchen culture that thrives on quality and creativity.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef, with ambitions to advance your reputation and career.
* Strong leadership, communication, and the ability to inspire and develop a team.
* A clear vision and passion for authentic dining and innovative menu creation.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with calmness and efficiency.
What We Offer:
* Competitive salary: $95,000 to $105,000 + Super + 5% net profit share of restaurant and café divisions.
