About the role:


In this Assistant Category Manager role, you will work closely with and report into the Category Manager of Home Care - Laundry. You will work across a broad range of categories, particularly Aircare, and assist in growing profitable category sales, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and support the customer-centric category strategy. You will be responsible for ranging of new and exciting products, leading trade planning whilst also being involved in a variety of projects.


You’ll also:

* Support the development and execution of the category strategy
* Have end-to-end accountability, manage forecasting and range reviews
* Execute the category’s pricing, promotion, range selection and layout development
* Develop strong supplier relationships to effectively partner and execute goals
* Collaborate with the wider BUs and SSC support functions to integrate and leverage capability within Coles Group.


About you and your skills:


Ideally, the successful candidate will have:

* Strong commercial acumen with experience applying this to interpret industry dynamics and competitive retail landscape
* Demonstrated analytical skills through proactively sourcing customer insights and data to formulate category recommendations
* Experience with product tender processes
* Developed communication skills and strong negotiation and influencing skills, with both internal and external stakeholders.
