About this opportunity
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the full production area. The focus of the role is to build a culture that has a strong Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence mindset driving towards achieving production KPIs within the organization.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* Champion a safety‐first culture
* Lead and develop the production team, with a focus on talent building for the mould change team and the production technicians
* Ensure all products are made on time and to specification
* Promote a culture of LEAN & Continuous Improvement towards world‐best practice
* Model direct, respectful communication across the site
* Ensure all standards ISO, HACCP and GMP are achieved
* Plan weekly production with a focus on minimising waste and maximising machine uptime
* Collaborate with the reliability manager to review machine setups and optimise product manufacture
* Work with the Supply Chain Team to optimise planning and scheduling, ensuring key issues impacting customer delivery are identified and understood
* Support the maintenance and logistics teams
* Maintain a Continuous Improvement mindset to improve Safety, Productivity, Quality and Reliability
Your skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you'll have
* Previous experience in a manufacturing/production environment
* Proven experience in Lean and Operational Excellence
* Management experience in a manufacturing environment that embraces continuous improvement
* Strong problem‐solving and analytical skills
* Ability to motivate, lead and supervise
* Ability to coach and mentor
* Leadership, influencing, negotiation, change management, conflict resolution, financial and computer literacy skills
Qualifications
Degree qualified is preferable in addition to solid experience in supervision within a manufacturing environment.
