Primary objective
Provide strategic and specialist technical advice to Management, internal and external stakeholders on future expansions and
enhancements of the Northern Territory Police Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV System). Provide high-level advice on the
administration, maintenance, technical performance, and quality assurance of the CCTV System. Manage the staffing, operational,
financial, capital, and functional requirements of the CCTV Unit. This position is the Contract Manager for the Supply, Installation,
Repairs and Maintenance of the CCTV System Contracts.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Surveillance System, including technical configuration, operation, and release of
information.
2. Provide specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders on the interpretation and application of the Closed-Circuit
Television (CCTV) Surveillance System.
3. Develop high level documentation including Ministerial and Legislative Assembly and Management briefs, licence agreements,
lease agreements, and reports.
4. Manage and promote effective collaborative relationships between the Agency and external stakeholders including other NTG
departments, local government councils, contractors, and the private sector.
5. Manage the CCTV Employee, Capital Works, and Operations budgets.
6. Manage and monitor service delivery against agreed deliverables under the Contract for the design, installation, and
maintenance of the CCTV System, and ensure compliance with Agency and NTPF policies and procedures.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Extensive working knowledge and understanding of complex CCTV Surveillance Systems.
2. Demonstrated experience in Project and Contract Management in order to manage and evaluate complex CCTV related projects
whilst meeting requirements of the NT Government Procurement and tendering requirements.
3. High-level verbal and written communication skills, with a strong level of analytical attention to detail sufficient to draft, review
and edit a range of NTG and NTPF confidential documents and complex reports and engage with stakeholders.
4. Ability to interpret, translate and apply legislation (including Information Act 2002 (NT), Work Health and Safety (National Uniform
Legislation) Act 2011 (NT), Surveillance Devices Act 2007 (NT), Public Sector Employment and Management Act 1993 (NT), and
translate strategic intent into operational decisions, processes, and procedures to achieve outcomes.
5. Experience working with a high level of autonomy and accountability, managing pressure and competing priorities,
and managing staff and budget to deliver within tight timeframes whilst managing risks and issues.
6. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality due to ongoing requirement to manage politically sensitive information, direct
access to the recording, monitoring, and storage of personal information.
7. Highly motivated, with the ability to set priorities and plan work schedules to achieve Agency objectives and deadlines.
Desirable
1. Formal qualification in Information and Communications Technology or a relevant related discipline.
